Dr. Cheng specializes in Perinatal/Reproductive Psychiatry, which involves treatment of mental health conditions related to pregnancy and post-partum periods such as postpartum depression/anxiety and pre-conception medication planning for women already taking psychiatric medication. Dr. Cheng is also board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine as well as some integrative psychiatry training so has a more holistic practice philosophy with a focus on minimizing use of prescription medications whenever possible. Dr. Cheng currently serves on the board of the International Society of Reproductive Psychiatry and is a volunteer expert consultant for the PSI Prescriber Consult Line.

As an avid video gamer herself, Dr. Cheng also specializes in working with other adult video gamers to improve their mental health, and enjoys volunteering with mental health non-profit organizations like the Take This organization supporting the video gaming community.
